Bridge By Night and Day

Stretching from my heart to yours
Is the longest bridge to find,
For all our loving prayers
Travel there across the line.

It doesn't need great marble pillars
Or silver cord to hold in place,
For it is riding on the light of glory
Suspended there in space.

Nothing material ever journeys there
For it is not made of earthly time,
It transcends both day and night
With no confines of any kind.

It moves within and through
The precious heart of God above,
Connecting us as one in our Lord Jesus
The eternal bridge of love.

Because if we know He died for us
Then He sets us ever free,
He places us secure in heavenly places
For all eternity.

Oh what joy to be in mind and spirit
Flying in that golden bridge on high,
Though our bodies may be trapped below
Our hearts are united forever
Soaring in the sky.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Good-bye."

Dear Father,
I ask you to bless my friends,
relatives and email buddies reading this right now.
Show them a fresh revelation of your Present love, forgiveness, comfort and power.
May the Holy Spirit, minister to their spirit at this very moment.
Where there is pain, give them your peace, joy and mercy.
Where there is doubt, release a renewed faith through your grace.
Bless their homes, families, needs, their goings and their comings.
And hold them close in your arms of love.
In Jesus' precious name.
Amen.

She Knelt Beside Her Bed

I'd like to paint the picture that
I see inside my head --
A portrait of my mother as
She knelt beside her bed.

She taught me from the Bible and
She kept me clothed and fed.
But mostly, I remember times
She knelt beside her bed.

She couldn't face the world alone,
But turned to God, instead,
And let Him lift her burdens as
She knelt beside her bed.

She lingered with her Savior, there,
And many tears were shed.
But, faith became much stronger when
She knelt beside her bed.

It wasn't just the things she did
Or, even, what she said.
I learned to love the Lord because
She knelt beside her bed.

A Friend Indeed

A friend is someone to share your whole day with,
someone to wish on a star,
a friend is someone to laugh 'till your crying,
one with to walk very far,

A friend is someone who won't tell your secrets,
a friend is somebody fair,
a friend is someone to share a big sundae,
someone to French braid your hair,

A friend is someone to make you happy,
when your very blue,
a friend is someone who teaches you things like
how to tie your shoe,

A friend is someone who's always there
for whatever you may need,
a friend is someone who you love,
a friend is a friend indeed.

Let Me Sing A Song

With the joy I have received
Let me learn to sing a song
For the sky finally cleared
And God was here all along!

But when clouds cover the sky
Shall I stop lifting my voice?
No, let me sing—God is here—
And continue to rejoice!

Or shall I hesitate
When a tear comes to my eye?
No, let me sing—I won’t stop!—
Even when I have to cry.

I am learning more each day
That our God is in control
Why should I be worrying?
I know He will save my soul!

So I will sing a ballad—
My life shall be a song
Sung to the tune God composed;
For this is where I belong!

Before I Go

When my life has reached it's very end,
And I take that final breath,
I want to know I've left behind,
Some "good" before my death.

I hope that in my final hour,
In all honesty I can say,
That somewhere in my lifetime,
I have brightened someone's day.

That maybe I have brought a smile
To someone else's face,
And made one moment a little sweeter,
While they dwelled here in this place.

Lord, please be my reminder
And whisper softly in my ear...
To be a "giver", not a "taker,"
In the years I have left here.

Give to me the strength I need,
Open up my mind and my soul,
That I might show sincere compassion,
And love to others before I go.

For if not a heart be touched by me,
And not a smile was left behind...
Then the life that I am blessed with,
Will have been a waste of time.

With all my heart, I truly hope,
To leave something here on earth.
That touched another, made them smile
And gave to my life ... worth.

“Mama”

The excitement of a child’s first words,
are soon followed by many others.
“Mama”, is the most cherished of all,
when heard by loving mothers.

Though not fully comprehended,
by someone that is so young,
it’s meaning grows each day,
as it rolls from a child’s tongue.

Its meaning becomes much clearer,
as the passing years unfold,
until the heart has been filled,
with something worth more than gold.

Her tender and loving ways,
are as silver threads that bind,
and keeps her precious memory,
locked deep within that small mind.

Even the bravest of fallen heroes,
when faced with fear of death,
cried out that precious word,
while taking their last breath.

So to each mother who means so much,
your family just wants to say,
“Here’s wishing you the best,
and have a happy, Mother’s Day”.

A boy walked to and from school daily. On one particular morning, the
weather was questionable as clouds were forming and the sky was grey,
but the boy made his daily trek to the elementary school anyway.

As the afternoon progressed, the winds whipped up and the thunder and
lightning began to roll. The boy's mother was concerned that her son
would be frightened as he walked home from school and feared that the
electrical storm might harm her child.

Worried, the mother got into her car and drove along the route to her
child's school. Upon finding her son, she noticed her boy was walking
along just fine, but at each flash of lightning, the child would stop,
look up and smile.

More lightning followed and with each one the boy
would look at the streak of light and smile.

Puzzled, the mother approached him in her car, lowered the window and
asked him, "What are you doing?"

The child answered, "I am trying to look nice, God keeps taking my picture."

I Need You

My Lord, I need you now,
please take me by the hand.
Stand by me in my hour of need,
take time to understand.

Take my hand dear Lord,
lead me from this place.
Chase away my doubts and fears,
wipe the tears from my face.

Lord, I cannot stand alone,
I need your hand to hold,
the warmth of your gentle touch
in a world that's grown cold.

Please be a friend to me,
hold me close day by day.
With your loving hand in mine,
I know I'll find my way.

Jesus, Be The Daddy In Our House

I'd wake her up, each morning,
With a kiss and a song.
I'd tell her, "Thanks to Jesus,
Nothing, today, could go wrong."

Breakfast and a daily devotion
Would get us on our way,
I was fighting to be strong.
A single mother greets the day;

School and work and volleyball,
Homework, burgers, and a hug.
The only thing missing was a daddy
And my heartstrings felt the tug.

Then, as we knelt by her bedside,
My daughter made me realize
I was not so alone, after all,
Because I had seen through her eyes.

"Jesus, be the daddy in our house,"
Was the innocent prayer she said.
And, He was the daddy in our house,
As we both tucked her into bed.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, LOVED ONES

Happy New Year, loved ones,
Oh, the things I wish for you,
Now, how shall I begin?
I doubt I ever will get through.

May your heart be filled with love,
And your body filled with health,
Your mind be filled with kindly thoughts,
And sweet dreams beyond yourself.

May your ears be filled with music,
May your eyes see beauty every day,
May your feet forever dance,
May your voice sing out in praise.

May you have a banquet table,
Filled with delightful foods,
Seasoned with life's spices,
And sweetened by good moods.

May you have platters filled with patience,
And contentment flowing from your cup,
And rich desserts of gratitude,
That will truly fill you up.

May you have a host of friends,
And loved ones as your guests,
May you appreciate each one of them,
And think each one is best.

May your troubles all be petty,
Just enough to make you strong,
May your heart and hands be willing
To help another soul along.

May you let God spend His time
As a part of you,
And may you spend your time,
As He would want you to.

Happy New Year, loved ones,
Those are the things I wish for you,
But they are only the beginning,
As I said, I never will get through.
