For A Wonderful Daughter

Just as there is no way to measure
all the happiness you have given us,
There are no words to tell you how
special you are and how much you are loved.
You are such a loving daughter and you bring
so much joy and fulfilment to our lives.
You have a beautiful way of bringing
out the best in others.

Even as a child you had that certain way about you
That always made everyone smile.
You don't hear it often enough because
it's hard to find words to tell you that,
You really are a dream come true.
A special treasure, a source of pride,
and you're loved more than
you could ever imagine.

ANNIVERSARY LOVE

The years have passed so swiftly, I don't know where they went,
I only know this love is shared, A family heaven sent;
So much joy the years unfold, only measured by the love,
That God has sent to you today, from Heaven up above;

May you be blessed with many years of love that is untold,
And make your home a presence where happiness unfolds.

A Diamond in the Rough

One day as I was walking slow
My heart still aching -- my head hung low,
I came across a barren field
Its soil unfertile, unable to yield.

I gazed upon this land so bare
My interest peaked, left in a stare,
Acres and acres of empty plain
Just like my soul with all of its pain.

Step by step, I moved along
The wind stood silent … without a song,
Rocks and stones littered the earth
Not a blade of grass, nor a sign of birth.

My only thought as I shook my head
This land, like my heart, is all but dead,
Not a sign of life was left there to see
What value could in this field be?

Then suddenly, a light caught my eye
I turned my head slowly to see what lie,
Amongst the dirt, covered wholly in dust
A facet was sparkling, released by a gust.

As I bent down to see up close
This shimmer of hope in a field of woes,
My breath was stolen, I was aghast
My body trembled, my heart raced fast.

For in this field, it was quite clear
This land was not hopeless, it held something dear,
It took some time, as it now seems
To forget the past and to see my dreams.

I awoke in a state of newfound glee
The pain was gone -- my heart was set free,
This day I realized, that you are here
And my future is brighter, because you are near.

You fill my heart with laughter and hope
Desperation has left me -- I can now cope,
I hope day by day, this friendship will grow
Into this field of my heart which we’ll sow.

For what we must sow, we also shall reap
Taking a step -- a faith held leap,
For together we’ll find our journey will start
We’ve found something priceless as we’ve bonded our hearts.

Vision In The Church

Sweeping pristine valley nestled midst the pine and birch
Down a dusty road less travelled sits an old abandoned church
Years of neglect embrace this sanctuary,
like the arms of the aging willow clinging to the roof
An elderly man, stands lost in thought
In the cobwebs of his memory, for he came here in his youth.

Bell and steeple still in tact, carpet of shingles cover the ground
Heartily wearing its coat of time broken stain glass windows
Lure the sun's inviting shine.
From the corner of his eye he sees a shadow slip inside
Within this Godly place of old he breathes in years of dust and mould
Scattered benches, pulpit high, one or two old prayer books lie.

Emotion erupts to engulf his soul, Celestial chapel in days of old
Word of Gospel's echo spread, Church where he, and young bride wed.
Thru his shimmering veil of tears, blinding flashing light appears
Vision of beauty, white satin and lace, cascading curls wisp side her face
She strikes a breathless pose, clutching a family Bible
And one white rose.

Reality consumes him as he rises to depart, pieces of his past etched
upon his heart, maze of visions, and confusion, his wife passed on for years
Miracle, dream, imagination ~ or just a mere illusion.
Love, respect, grief and wonder, open wounds start to flow
Caressed by shrouds of disbelief, he smiles, looking down ~~ he knows,
For there among the ruin and rubble, lies a single fresh white rose.

"What Love Means to Me"

Love is an unselfish commitment between a woman and a man,
A gentle spirit that comes from deep inside.
Love is something you give and never try to hide,
Always striving for you to do better, never causing you to sin.

It is warmth and a beauty that is so hard to find.
It lights up your heart and takes over your mind.
It's a once in a lifetime feeling, that you receive only from the Master,
An unconditional bond, for now and forever after ...

A oneness that only two can describe,
A reason for living and keeping your hopes and dreams alive.
It's giving of yourself to others, no matter who they maybe.
Love is an open book and it's for the whole world to see.

It makes you feel important and it lets you like yourself.
Never tuck it away or put it on a shelf.
Love, to me, is acceptance; never questioning the reason.
It's what life brings, no matter the time or the season.

Love is a family who worships the Lord and lives under His realm,
Always making Him the head of the household and putting Him at the helm.
They say, in the Bible, that love suffers long
And it is kind. Love does not envy.
It will make you change, until the day you die.
I know the truth and on Jesus' love I can rely.

Love is pure, As the driven snow; It gave me respect and grace
And, through me, it will surely flow.
I give you all my love and let it come back to me.
For, its value is worth more than millions and it is free.
