An Angel In Your Pocket

I am a tiny angel, I'm smaller than your thumb;
I live in people pockets, that's where I have my fun.
I don't suppose you've seen me, I'm too tiny to detect;
Though I'm with you all the time, I doubt we've ever met.
Before I was an Angel ...I was a fairy in a flower;
God, Himself, hand-picked me, and gave me Angel power.

Now God has many Angels that He trains in Angel pools;
We become His eyes, and ears, and hands ...
We become His special tools.
And because God is so busy, with way too much to do;
He said that my assignment was to keep close watch on you.
Then He tucked me in your pocket, blessing you with Angel care;
Saying I must never leave you, and I vowed to stay right there.

A Mothers Little Angel

There came a frantic knock At the doctor's office door,
A knock, more urgent than he had ever heard before.
"Come in, Come in," the impatient doctor said,
"Come in, Come in, before you wake the dead."
In walked a frightened little girl, a child no more than nine,
It was plain for all to see, she had troubles on her mind.

"Oh doctor, I beg you, please come with me,
My mother is surely dying, she's as sick as she can be."
"I don't make house calls, bring your mother here,"
"But she's too sick, so you must come or she will die I fear."

The doctor, touched by her devotion, decided he would go,
She said he would be blessed, more than he could know.
She led him to her house where her mother lay in bed,
Her mother was so very sick she couldn't raise her head.

But her eyes cried out for help and help her the doctor did,
She would have died that very night had it not been for her kid.
The doctor got her fever down and she lived through the night,
And morning brought the doctor signs, that she would be all right.

The doctor said he had to leave but would return again by two,
And later he came back to check, just like he said he'd do.
The mother praised the doctor for all the things he'd done,
He told her she would have died, were it not for her little one.

"How proud you must be of your wonderful little girl,
It was her pleading that made me come, she is really quite a pearl!
"But doctor, my daughter died over three years ago,
Is the picture on the wall of the little girl you know?"

The doctors legs went limp for the picture on the wall,
Was the same little girl for whom he'd made this call.
The doctor stood motionless, for quite a little while,
And then his solemn face, was broken by his smile.

He was thinking of that frantic knock heard at his office door,
And of the beautiful little angel that had walked across his floor.

Angels and Friends

Angels are here, beside us, on earth - as well as in heaven above.
You can tell them by their compassion and help - by their unconditional love.
An angel can be a friend you have - or someone you don't even know;
They come to us when we need them most and never just turn and go.

We all have many angels; God sends them by the score
And if we need another hand, he sends a dozen more.
They give Comfort when we're lonely and when we're filled with fear;
Give Hope for us to smile when we'd only shed a tear.

Guidance helps us choose a path when we're lost along the way;
Protection is always with us through every night and day.
Beauty helps us count our blessings; to look around and see
The wonders of the sky and earth; the beauty of a tree.

So when your heart is heavy and you think it will not mend,
Don't be surprised when an angel comes and you know you have a friend.

Angel Watching

Angel watching has always been a favourite past time of mine.
It takes a keen eye, an open heart, and a joyful soul to be a good angel watcher.
You have to be ready for a quick surprise, a burst of delight,
and a flood of love when you do it, however.
Angels just love to catch you off guard and fill you with wonder,
awe, and happiness.

Now the angels I am talking about aren't the ones with halos, robes,
and wings that you see in paintings hanging in art galleries.
The angels that I am talking about are the ones who
hide behind human faces and ordinary clothes.

The angels that I am talking about are the ones who,
disguised as the rest of us, go about sharing love, spreading joy,
warming hearts, and uplifting souls.
The angels that I am talking about are the ones who take a little bit
of Heaven and bring it down to Earth
so that the rest of us can see just how wonderful this life can be.

These angels aren't always easy to spot,
but when you have been angel watching as long as
I have you start to see the signs that give them away.
The eyes that glow with light and love are the first sign.
There isn't an angel out there whose eyes don't sparkle and dance
with the goodness and oneness with God that lies within their souls.
The shining smile is another beautiful sign.

Angels can always send God's joy, love, and happiness
straight into your heart when they smile.
The desire to help others is perhaps the biggest sign of all.
Angels are full of love, joy, and caring and thus
always want to help others.

They tend to appear the most in times of great need.
When a winter storm and power blackout blanketed this area recently,
I saw more angels out there helping, giving, and caring than I believed possible.
Keep your eyes open for angels then.
They are everywhere.
In fact, if you look closely enough you might even see one
the next time you look in the mirror.

My Miracle

How does one measure a miracle? What kind of gauge does one use?
Should miracles be stupendous and grand, breathtaking, enormous, and huge?
Must the colors be vivid and shockingly bright? What volume of sound should one hear?
Are miracles crafted of pure solid gold, Or fashioned of jewels so dear?

How will I know if I've seen one? Will there be angels flying around?
Will the sun be brilliantly shining? Will I see stars and a moon beaming down?
Where do I look for my miracle? How will I know one is near?
Then the simple answer came to me, "Dear child, just look in a mirror."

MY DEAR CHILD

I loved you then, I love you now. You've been gone a long time now.
Over twenty years, but believe this son, for you have to know.
I loved you then, I love you now.
I remember the day of your brith. The docter gave me a perfect new born.
Black hair and dark eyes, that really made your Mommy cry.

How perfect your life should have been, but you were fighting
a fight that you couldn't win.
Then God took you away, yes son I remember that sad day too.
They say that time heals all the pain.
Its been twenty years and it feels just the same.
I loved you then, I love you now.
I've got through it this far but I don't know how.

'Til Death Us Do Part

The old man sat by her bed with tears running down his cheeks
He had been watching her die for nearly two weeks
With his feeble hand he held hers inside
To him he still viewed her as his “Bride”

His mind drifts off to the past years they shared
He had always honored her and showed her he cared
Guilt is not known only sorrow is there
His presence there is all she is now aware

Their life together had been many joyous years
They shared laughter but they also shared many tears
He stood by her and always remained true
He still loved her as much as when he first said “ I do”

Time took its toll and old age came along
She grew weaker yet he had to remain strong
For he vowed to be there in sickness or in health
He gave all he had to her never wanting wealth

Now sitting helpless not knowing what to do
How can he help her and see her through?
He prayed to the Lord to take her if it be his will
Really wanting her to get better and be with him still

She passed on very peacefully and he said his “goodbye”
Then he broke down and began to cry
He prayed to the Lord to watch her for him
Until he could be with his love again

That night he made up his mind to give up on life
For he saw no purpose if he no longer had his wife
One month to the day he joined her above
Now he was again reunited with his love

For love had a beginning but knows no end
When he lost his wife, he also lost his best friend
The day they were married they both vowed from their heart
“ I’ll be with you forever, till Death Us Do Part”
