A Child's Prayer

This little lass, was very proud of the fact that she
could say her prayers by herself without any
prompting. This did not stop her parents from
checking upon her however, to see that she
didn't forget anything.
One night, while listening at the bedroom door,
they heard her add one or two thoughts of her own.
She had just finished her "God bless Mummy...
God bless Daddy...God bless Grandma,"
and normally would have hopped right into bed.
This particular night, however, she stayed
on her knees a moment longer.
Finally, she looked up and said earnestly;
"Please take care of yourself God,
'cause if anything happens to you we are all sunk."
"Amen."

One Thing Never Changes

The seasons swiftly come and go
And with them comes the thought
Of all the various changes
That time in flight has brought.
But one thing never changes
It remains the same forever
GOD truly loves "HIS CHILDREN"
And HE will forsake them never!
I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Hebrews 13:5

A Child's Angel

Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born.
One day he asked God: "They tell me you are sending
me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live
there being so small and helpless?"
God replied, "Among the many angels, I chose one for you.
She will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

But tell me, said the child, "Here in Heaven,
I don't do anything but sing and smile,
that's enough for me to be happy."
"Your angel will sing for you," God replied,
"and she will also smile for you every day."
"And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

"And how am I going to be able to understand when
people talk to me, if I don't know the
language that men talk?"
"Your angel will tell you the most beautiful
and sweet words you will ever hear, and
with much patience and care, your angel
will teach you how to speak."
"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"
"Your angel will place your hands together
and will teach you how to pray."

"I've heard that on earth there are bad men.
Who will protect me?"
"Your angel will defend you even if
it means risking her life."
"But I will be sad because I will not see You anymore."
"Your angel will always talk to you about Me
and she will teach you the way for you to
come back to me, even though I will
always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven,
but voices from earth could already be heard,
and the child in a hurry asked softly:
"Oh God, if I am about to leave now,
please tell me my Angel's name."
And, God replied,
"Your Angel's name is of no importance,
you will call your Angel ..... Mummy"

Children's Prayers

Thank you for the world so sweet,
Thank you for the food we eat,
Thank you for the birds that sing,
Thank you God, for everything.

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray Thee Lord my soul to keep,
If I should die before I wake,
I pray Thee Lord my soul you'll take.

Amen.

An eight year old Explains God

One of God's main jobs is making people.
He makes these to put in place of the ones
that die so that there will be enough people
to take care of things here on earth.

He doesn't make grownups. Just babies.
I think because they are smaller and easier
to make. That way He doesn't have to take
up His valuable time teaching them
to talk and walk. He can just leave
that up to the mothers and fathers.
I think it works out pretty good.

God's second most important job is listening
to prayers. An awful lot of this goes on,
as some people, like preachers and things,
pray other times besides bedtime.
God doesn't have time to listen to
the radio or TV on account of this.

As He hears everything, not only prayers,
there must be a terrible lot of noise
in His ears, unless He has thought of
a way to turn it off.

God sees everything and hears everything
and is everywhere. Which keeps Him pretty busy.
So you shouldn't go wasting His time by going over
your parents head and ask for something they said
you couldn't have. Atheists are people who don't
believe in God. I don't think there are any
in Chula Vista. At least there aren't any
who come to our church.

Jesus is God's son. He used to do all the
hard work, like walking on water and doing
miracles and trying to teach people about
God who didn't want to learn.
They finally got tired of Him preaching
to them and they crucified Him.
But He was good and kind, like His father
and He told His Father that they didn't know
what they were doing and to forgive
them and God said OK.

His Dad (God) appreciated everything He had done
and all His hard work on earth, so He told Him
He didn't have to go out on the road any more.
He could stay in Heaven. So He did.
And now He helps His Dad out by listening
to prayers and seeing which things are important
to God to take care of and which ones He can
take care of Himself without having to
bother God. Like a secretary, only
more important of course.

You can pray any time you want and they are sure
to hear you because they got it worked out so
one of them is on duty all the time.
You should go to Sunday School, because it makes
God happy, and if there's anybody you want to
make happy, it's God.
Don't skip Sunday School to do something you
think will be more fun, like going to the beach.
That's wrong! and besides, the sun doesn't
come out at the beach until noon anyway.
If you don't believe in God, besides being
an Atheist, you will be very lonely,
because your parents can't go everywhere
with you, like camp, but God can.

It's good to know He's around when you're scared
of the dark or when you can't swim very good
and you get thrown in real deep water by
the big kids. But you shouldn't just
think of what God can do for you.
I figure He put me here and can take me
back any time He pleases.
And that's why I believe in God.

A Childs Prayer to God

Every evening As I'm laying here in bed
This tiny little prayer keeps running through my head
God bless my Mum and Dad And bless my little pup
And look out for my brother when things aren't looking up.

And God, there's one more thing I wish that you could do
Hope you don't mind me asking but please bless my computer too?
Now I know that's not normal to bless a mother board
But just listen a second while I explain to you 'My Lord'.

You see, that little metal box holds more to me than odds & ends
Inside those small compartments rest a hundred of my 'BEST FRIENDS'
Some it's true I've never seen and most I've never met
We've never exchanged hugs or shared a meal as yet.

I know for sure they like me by the kindness that they give
And this little scrap of metal is how I travel to where they live
By faith, is how I know them much the same as you
I share in what life brings them from that our friendship grew

Please take an extra minute from your duties up above
To bless this scrap of metal that's filled with so much love!

Amen

'Out of the mouths of babes.'

A first grader was sitting in class as the teacher
was reading the story of the Three Little Pigs.
She came to the part of the story where the first pig
was trying to acquire building materials for his home.
She said "...And so the pig went up to the man with
a wheelbarrow full of straw and said
'Pardon me sir, but might I have some
of that straw to build my house with?"
Then the teacher asked the class,
"And what do  you think that man said?"
and my friend's son raised his hand and said
"I know! I know!, he said.....
'Holy smokes! A talking pig!"
The teacher was unable to teach for the next 10 minutes.

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the
Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.
After explaining the commandment to
"honour thy father and thy mother," she asked
"Is there a commandment that teaches us how to
treat our brothers and sisters?"
Without missing a beat one little boy
(the oldest of a family) answered,
"Thou shall not kill."

An honest seven-year-old admitted calmly
to her parents that Billy Brown had kissed
her after class. "How did that happen?"
gasped her mother. "It wasn't easy,"
admitted the young lady,
"but three girls helped me catch him."

One day, a little girl is sitting and watching
her mother do the dishes  at the kitchen sink.
She suddenly notices that her mother has several
strands of white hair sticking out in
contrast on her brunette head.
She looks at her mother and inquisitively asks,
"Why are some of your hairs white, Mum?"
Her mother replied, "Well, every time
that you do something wrong and make me
cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white."
The little girl thought about this revelation
for a while, and then said,
"So, Mummy, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?"

The children had all been photographed, and the
teacher was trying to persuade them each to
buy a copy of the group picture.
"Just think how nice it will be to look at it
when you are all grown up and say,
There's Jennifer; she's a lawyer,
or That's Michael, he's a doctor."
A small voice at the back of the room
rang out, "And there's the teacher; she's dead."

For weeks, a six-year old lad kept telling his
first-grade teacher about the baby brother or
sister that was expected at his house.
One day the mother allowed the boy to feel
the movements of the unborn child.
The six-year old was obviously impressed,
but made no comment. Furthermore, he stopped
telling his teacher about the impending event.
The teacher finally sat the boy on her lap and said,
"Tommy, whatever has become of that baby brother
or sister you were expecting at home?"
Tommy burst into tears and confessed,
"I think Mummy ate it!"
